Peering Into The Peers

It seems to be a strange quirk of sinful human nature
that we are constantly compelled to compare ourselves with
one another. In this present generation we use a vast array
of gadgets, inventions, and other artful contrivances to
make ourselves "better". A massive advertising industry
plays off our worst fears - that we might not pass the
muster, measure up - that someone else might have beat us to
the punch, reached the destination ahead of us, or trumped
us in some aspect of life. Enter into this arena the diverse
psychobabble industry, publishing books galore that hype our
deepest, darkest needs and urges. How can we possibly attain
perfection? How can we reassure ourselves that we are
"okay"? Let's take that latest magazine survey to see if we
are compatible with our husband or wife! Let's try that
latest pill, cosmetic, or health food!
Resurrecting Pagan Rites
by Lynn and Sarah Leslie
To
date, only the more fundamentalist, discernment-oriented
ministries have dared to crack open "The Masculine Journey"
for critical comment. Much of the criticism has centered
around its use of psychology and the offensive content. The
book's association with Promise Keepers, the stunningly
popular men's movement, has led to a "hands off" approach by
many who would normally be more critical of the book. Also,
most of the recent PK recruits have had little or no
exposure to the book and simply slough off any criticism of
the book as not relevant to their own personal experience.
Encountering" Men At Risk
by Sarah Leslie
Several critical reviews of Promise Keepers
have brought to light some serious biblical flaws in the
Promise Keepers model. After examining these reviews we
found the criticisms to have merit. One aspect in particular
grabbed our attention: the use of an encounter group format.
We decided to review the materials for ourselves.
Spirit- Led or Purpose Driven?
By Berit Kjos,
Kjos Ministries
Our website began to receive
requests for information about The Purpose Driven Life
last year. So Andy and I bought the book, read it quickly
and were troubled by some of its claims, promises and
paraphrased "Bible" references. But we also found many true
and encouraging pages. Since we didn't want to criticize
Rick Warren or confuse those who apparently were helped by
his book, we left it on the shelf...

40 Days of Change Through
Transformational Leadership
by Berit Kjos, Kjos

You probably won't discover
Rick Warren's vision for the 21st century community by
simply reading his top-selling books. Yet, many have sensed
that his five familiar motivational purposes hide a more
complex mission. Some have noticed that his transformational
strategies match those of UN globalists and the world's
leading change agents. No wonder, since today's management
gurus -- Peter Drucker, Peter Senge, Bob Buford and others
-- are shaping the same strategic pathways for churches as
for the rest of the world.

An Open Letter to the National Association of Evangelicals
– Re: The Election of Ted Haggard as President of the NAE
Sandy Simpson &
Mike Oppenheimer, ACT & Let Us Reason Ministries
This open letter details facts that
the NAE membership may have overlooked in their election
of Haggard. The letter shows Ted Haggard's promotion of
ecumenical unity between orthodox Pentecostals,
charismatics, the UPC cult, the Third Wave, and the
Word-Faith movement. It shows a false prophesy he just
made. It highlights his evangelistic methodology and
unbiblical spiritual warfare techniques. Most importantly,
it shows how this election fits in perfectly with the
plans of the International Coalition of Apostles under C.
Peter Wagner to take over leadership in Christendom.

This article is a response to an email we received from

Uses His New Presidency In The NAE To Advance Policies
For Evangelicals On Islam
We warned the Church about the effect that
the International Coalition of Apostles will have on
Christendom recently in two articles. We believe that the
seriousness of doctrinal issues being introduced by the
International Coalition Of Apostles (ICA) through Ted
Haggard to the NAE and his assertions with regard to his
involvement in the ICA present a threat to the integrity
of the truths of the written Word of God and to the Gospel
message. Our second article was only out a few days before
our claims had been proven accurate. Ted Haggard
immediately went into "interfaith" mode, using his new
position as the president of the NAE to promote the
Dominionist agenda of the ICA and the New Apostolic
Reformation with regard to evangelism. First, let's go
back...
